Former ANAF Director Sebastian Bodu wants to be mayor

Former National Fiscal Administration Agency (ANAF) Director Sebastian Bodu has announced that he will run for the mayoralty of Bucharest’s District 6.

“I have decided to run independently for the office of District 6 Mayor. (…) District 6 needs modern administration, needs vision, but also order. I ask you, all those with good faith, all those who want a different District 6, to join me,” Bodu stated in a presentation video posted on his Facebook page.

Bodu claims that his decision comes after PSD and PNL sympathisers in District 6 expressed, in their talks with him, their “disappointment” with the candidates nominated by the two parties.

Last week, the PSD leadership validated the party’s candidates for the Bucharest City Hall and the district mayoralties, Gabriel Mutu being nominated the party’s candidate in District 6.

Lower Chamber MP Razvan Mironescu was nominated by PNL’s District 6 branch as its candidate for the district mayoralty.

Liberal Rares Manescu is District 6’s incumbent mayor.
