Health minister: From medical standpoint, survival following Colectiv club fire within European average

Health Minister Patriciu Achimas-Cadariu said on Friday, in a press conference in Targu Mures that, from a medical standpoint, the survival following the Colectiv club fire was within the European average.

“The analysis of survival of cases reported to the severity of the condition was made by professionals (…) and shows us that, from a medical standpoint, the survival in Romania was within the European average of this time. Again, I do not want to minimize the tragedy – and if I may, I express my sympathy for each loss in that tragic event – when I took over the ministry I took over the patients and their recovering. These were and are sustained through doctors’ efforts and all the financial measures taken by the Ciolos Cabinet,” said the health minister.

Patriciu Achimas-Cadariu added that a technical analysis into the medical component of Colectiv case is under way, and whatever its findings, it would be assumed by the Health Ministry.
