Germany, Romania’s most important trade partner

The Romanian – German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Romania) announces present figures concerning the exchanges between Romania and Germany.

According to data published by the National Statistics Institute, Germany remains for 2015, as well, Romania’s number one trade partners. Imports from Germany amounted to a total of EUR 12.5 billion, 11.3 percent higher than in 2014, and exports were worth EUR 10.8 billion, representing an increase of 6.8 per cent compared to the previous year. The total amount of commercial exchanges between the two states thus added up to EUR 23.3 billion (an increase of 9.3 per cent). The most important groups of products featured in Romanian – German trade are cars, devices, means and materials of transportation as well as common metals.

Romania’s trade exchanges reached a total of EUR 117.5 billion last year, which is an increase of 1.9 per cent to 2014.

For 2016, forecasts expect a continued positive evolution of Romanian – German economical relations and also of German investments in Romania. The Romanian – German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Romania), as an official representation of German economy in Romania, contributes to the improvement of the business and investment climate in Romania. One of their main concerns is and remains the development of professional education based on dual pattern with the purpose of training qualified personnel in Romania.
