Scorpions, Iron Maiden and Muse return to Bucharest

The much beloved bands Scorpions, Iron Maiden and Muse will sing again in Romania, this summer in Bucharest.

Germany’s Scorpions will give a concert at Romexpo, on July 16, as part of the band’s Return to Forever 50th Anniversary Tour. The Scorpions’ concert is presented by Marcel Avram, East European Production, and D&D East Entertainment, and will be the sixth given by Scorpions in Romania.

Thus, on July 16, Scorpions fans will be able to listen live to the biggest songs from the repertoire built by the band in over 50 years of career. Songs such as ‘Still Loving You’, ‘Winds of Change,’ ‘Rock You Like a Hurricane’ and ‘Send me an Angel’ will be heard at Romexpo, the same location of the band’s 2013 concert.

The ‘Wind of Change’ ballad launched in 1990 and considered the symbol of the fall of the Berlin Wall became a worldwide success, being the best selling single of 1991.

Scorpions is one of the most appreciated rock bands in Europe in the last half a century, managing to inspire every generation. Hailing from Hanover, the band was established in 1965 and consists of five musicians from different countries.

In 2015, the band launched the 18th studio album – ‘Return to Forever.’ The ‘We Built This House’ song was promoted as the album’s first single, recalling the 50 years of music that the band gave to their fans. So far, the band has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, being inducted by Vh1 in its Greatest Artists of Hard Rock rankings. Tickets are available within the Eventim network.

Rock The City, in Constitutiei Square

Rock The City, one of the biggest rock festivals in Romania, now at its 7th edition, returns after a two-year break. Muse and Iron Maiden top the bill. Muse will give a concert in Constitutiei Square on July 29, and Iron Maiden on July 30.

Muse, the band with over 20 million albums sold, over 50 awards won, 3 of which are Grammys, returns to Bucharest on July 29, at Constitutiei Square, under the aegis of the Rock The City Festival. Volbeat and Birth of Joy will open the concert, Marcel Avram, East European Production, and D&D East Entertainment announced on Wednesday, March 30.

Muse is a band with a history of 22 years, despite the fact that their fame is somewhat more recent. In 1999 they launched their first album – ‘Showbiz’ –, which was somewhat overlooked at the time. Most of their concerts took place in Teignmouth, their home town and still one of their favourite destinations in tours.

“Muse means Matthew Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Christopher Wolstenholme. They survived the test of time, they found a loyal public, and success came in 2001, with the launch of the ‘Origin of Symmetry’ album which included some of their biggest hits – ‘Plug in Baby’ and ‘ New Born’ –, songs that transformed them into rock stars capable of singing before packed stadiums. With this album came the space rock label associated so much with Muse in recent years,” the organizers show.

Their most recent album – ‘Drones’ – is the album that brings the British band to Romania. Launched last summer, it received praise from critics and the audience alike. ‘Drones’ is a concept album that tells the story of the protagonist by recounting various states he experiences – from abandonment and the loss of hope to being indoctrinated by the system as a human drone.

On Day 2 of the Rock The City Festival, Britain’s Iron Maden will take to the stage. On July 30, Iron Maiden will give in Bucharest one of the final shows included in “The Book of Souls 2016” tour through which the band is promoting the album that bears the same name. The album topped the music charts in over 40 countries. Fear Of The Dark, The Trooper, Powerslave, The Number of The Beast and Wasted Years, as well as hit songs from the 80s and 90s, will be included in the set list, alongside songs from “The Book of Souls,” their new studio album. The members of the band will come to Bucharest on their private jet. Soloist Bruce Dickinson is known to be a pilot.

Iron Maiden is one of the most influential and long-lasting heavy metal band in the world. Iron Maiden means Steve Harris, Bruce Dickinson, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Janick Gers and Nicko McBrain.

Rock The City Festival is organized by Marcel Avram and East European Events, in partnership with D&D East Entertainment. One-day tickets as well as subscriptions are available. The tickets can be bought from the Eventim network.
