Competition Council analyses the concrete producing and trading market

The Competition Council has launched a division investigation on the Romanian concrete producing and trading market. During this study, the structure and the operating mechanisms of the field will be analysed and also, it will attempt to identify potential issues caused by competition.

If any dysfunctional aspects are found, the Competition Council will issue recommendations for the development of the market and of the competition and, if needed, it may launch inquiries concerning an eventual violation of the law.

We mention that, as part of the Report on competition in key fields, the Competition Council analyses the main sections of economy by means of the Aggreggate Index of Competitive Pressure (AICP). From this point of view, during 2013 – 2015, the concrete producing and trading market was positioned last, with the lowest competitive pressure of the 21 industries analysed.

As part of the division investigation, the Competition Council may request information and documents to all involved actors. The Competition Council invites all actors involved on this market to an active communication, open to confront competition-related issues they are dealing with.
