Marian Vanghelie announced on Thursday, in a press conference, that he is the new leader of the Social Justice Party – a group due to have its congress in approximately three weeks.
He appeared at the Parliament Palace, accompanied by a group that included members of the Parliament, representatives of unions, members of PDS, with whom he was to lead the party, founded more than seven years ago.
“We will fight for human rights. You will see beautiful things in the days to come. If I will not manage to be stronger than PSD at the forthcoming Parliament elections, I will go home”, Vanghelie declared.
He pointed out that he assumed the responsibility of overtaking this new group and omitted to give a straight answer concerning his candidacy to the Mayoralty of District 5, hinting that he might even run for the Mayoralty of Bucharest.
He also mentioned that he had the required experience to be a party leader and added that he will collaborate with “several groups”.
