Agriculture minister to participate Monday in EU Council – Agriculture and Fisheries meeting, on Monday

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Achim Irimescu will participate on Monday in the EU Council (Agriculture and Fisheries) meeting, which will take place in Luxembourg.

According to a press release issued to Agerpres, the agenda includes issues related to fisheries, more exactly the Regulation proposal establishing a framework for the collection, management and use of data and supporting scientific consulting in fisheries and the Regulation proposal on conservation of fishery resources and protection of marine ecosystems.

As to agriculture, the Council will deal with milk sector crisis, changing rules and exceptional measures in fruit and vegetables resulting from the ban on import by Russia, extending by one month (until June 15, 2016) the submission of aid applications or payment ones for 2016 and combating food fraud in the EU.
