Street crimes went down by eight percent year on year in the first quarter of 2016, according to a stage analysis by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI).
“As regards the increase of the citizen’s safety, the MAI main purpose, the analysis of the first three months of 2016 revealed a continuation of the downtrend of reported crimes (down by 3pct against the similar period of the last year) with 8pct less street crimes recorded as regards the public order ,” reads a MAI release on Monday.
Internal Affairs Minister Petre Toba has chaired on Monday an sitting to analyse the accomplishment of the objectives assumed by the ministry for the first quarter of 2016. The meeting was attended by the entire leadership of the ministry and the chiefs of its operative structures.
