Films by directors Anca Damian (photo), Imam Hasanov, Alina Manolache and producer Andra Popescu will be featured at the 13th Crossing Europe International Film Festival in Linz, running April 20 through 25.

According to a release of the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) in Vienna, “Holy Cow” – a 2015 Romania, Germany, Azerbaijan co-production directed by Imam Hasanov and having Andra Popescu as a producer – was selected for the Documentary Section; the “Magic Mountain” (a 2015 Romania, France, Poland co-production) directed by Anca Damian was selected for the Panorama Documentary section, and the “End of Summer” (Romania 2015) directed by Alina Manolache will be screened in the Cinema Next Europe section.

Crossing Europe is a cross-border project, an attractive and communicative platform for young filmmakers, cineasts and representatives of the film industry. The program of the festival combines aspects of European history and culture seen from the viewpoint of multiple observers: those looking at Europe from outside, as a citadel, and the observers from the inside, faced in their turn with their own challenges.

As many as 160 artistic, documentary and short film productions will be presented during the festival at the Moviemento (OK-Platz 1, 4020 Linz), City-Kino (Graben 30, 4020 Linz) and Ursulinensaal (OK-Platz 1, 4020 Linz) venues.

ICR Vienna, the Polish Institute in Vienna, the Czech Centre in Vienna, the Embassy of Switzerland in Austria, EUNIC Austria members are among the organization and cooperation partners of Crossing Europe Linz 2016.
