Sanex S.A., member of Lasselsberger Group, the main producer of ceramic tiles in Romania, is approaching the inauguration of new infrastructure at its production plant in Cluj-Napoca. The installation, called an atomizer, will improve the company’s environment protection results and will boost the competitiveness of its products. The project is worth EUR 1.4 M and is co-financed through the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014.
The activities carried out are part of the “Greener production and management processes in the ceramic tiles industry in Romania – Green industry – Romania” project backed with funds offered by the Norwegian Government through Norwegian Grants 2009-2014 in the Green Industry Innovation financing domain.
The first stage of the project took place in July-September 2015 and consisted of the construction of the infrastructure needed to set up the equipment and of the foundation that supports the building that houses it.
Covering a period of 6 months, the stages that followed consisted of the actual assembly of the atomizer, as well as the construction of the building that houses it, a building that reaches a height of approximately 25 metres.
“At this moment, the atomizer is at the point of being linked to technological installations and utilities. The project is materializing before our eyes, which makes us think of the benefits it will bring when it is finalized,” Sanex Sales and Marketing Director Sergiu Apolzan stated.
According to the company representative, the new atomizer will consume a low amount of natural gas and will offer a significant drop in emissions, the more so since the filters it is equipped with are the best on the market, as an added environment protection measure.
SANEX S.A. has been known in Romania for over 44 years as a producer of ceramic tiles (wall and floor ceramic surfaces), registering stable evolution on the market.
Its integration, in 2004, into the portfolio of Austria’s LASSELSBERGER Group, one of the biggest ceramic tiles producers in Europe, gave SANEX S.A. a significant infusion of knowhow and stronger orientation toward research and innovation, in order to fall in line with international trends.
