Feature film ‘Illegitimate’ wins Great Prize at ‘L’Europe autour de l’Europe’ Festival in Paris

The Romanian feature ‘Illegitimate’ by Adrian Sitaru has won the Great Prize – Prix Sauvage at the 11th edition of the ‘L’Europe autour de l’Europe’ Festival in Paris, Domestic Film informed Agerpres in a release on Monday.

During the awards gala, a Special Mention was handed to Alina Grigore, the actress who plays the main role in Sitaru’s film.

‘Illegitimate’ is the story of two brothers (played by Alina Grigore and Robi Urs) and their illegitimate love. Their father is a physician (Adrian Titieni); several denouncements are involved in the plot on the life of a family where the boundary between moral and immoral has never existed – not even in the case of an abortion, as the film’s presentation reveals.

Non-professionals actors Robi Urs, Cristina Olteanu, Miruna Dumitrescu, Liviu Vizitiu, Mihaela Perianuof the InLight School join Adrian Titieni, Bogdan Albulescu, Alina Grigore on the cast. Credits include Adrian Sitaru and Alina Grigore (script); Adrian Silisteanu and Alexandru Lorian Timosca (picture); Mircea Olteanu and Theo Lichtenberger (film editing); Ioan Filip and Dan-Stefan Rucareanu (sound design); Anamaria Antoci (producer). ‘Illegitimate’ is a Domestic Film production, in coproduction with Film Produkcja Poland and Damned Films France.

‘Illegitimate’ had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the International Confederation of Art Cinemas (CICAE) Award. Its festival performance continues in Portugal on April 24 at IndieLisboa. It will be released in France on June 8.
