Renewable energy capacity reaches 5,156 MW

The total installed capacity of Romania’s renewable energy producers reached 5,156 MW at end-February, up from 5,142 MW at end-2015, according to data centralized by Transelectrica, the state-owned operator of the transmission grid.
Wind power totalled 3,129 de MW; solar power 1,338 de MW, micro hydro power plants 586 de MW; and biomass power 103 MW.
Renewable energy producers get free green certificates tradeable for additional income. The certificates are invoiced to all consumers, including the households.
