The Embassy of Spain in Romania and Instituto Cervantes from Bucharest present at the latter’s location, until June 30, the exhibition called “Miguel EN Cervantes. The Wonders Panorama”, organized by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), Comunidad de Madrid and Instituto Cervantes, and held by the trustees’ team “i con i”.
“Miguelanxo Prado and David Rubín, two of the best Spanish designers and cartoon authors, are approaching the exhibition from the view of the contemporary language of the illustration and cartoon. The exhibition faces two narrative perspectives: the real one, corresponding to Cervantes’ life, and the fictional one, which is represented by his famous play”, the organizers show in their release. By this exhibition, the Spanish Cultural Action, Comunidad de Madrid and Instituto Cervantes commemorate the most important personality of the Spanish literature, celebrating in 2016 the 4th centenary since the death of Miguel de Cervantes.
The life of Miguel de Cervantes was as unknown as it was captivating. He was a spy for King Philip II, he worked in the service of the Church, he experienced an attack of the pirates on the sea, he was taken prisoner, he worked as a tax collector, he was a husband from time to time, and he was a tireless traveler… However, his great literary success, “El Quijote”, eclipsed his personality, and his life was always surrounded by mystery. The exhibition aims to bring to light his fascinating personality.
