Tender for Bucharest Nord – Giurgiu Nord Frontiera railway

The National Railway Company (CFR) is organising an open tender for the feasibility study on the modernisation of the Bucharest Nord – Jilava – Giurgiu Nord – Giurgiu Nord Frontiera railway line, the contract having an estimated value of RON 19.267 M, VAT not included, according to a press release.

The goals of modernising the aforementioned railway line to European standards consist of reopening the railway line to traffic; improving railway traffic safety conditions; reducing the travel time by raising travel speed throughout the length of the railway line; improving travel comfort; hiking the transit of freight trains; ensuring railway links with the Jilava – Bucharest Progresu and Giurgiu Nord – Giurgiu City railway sections; lowering the emission of greenhouse gases and the negative impact on the environment, the communiqué informs.

The open tender announcement, which includes information on the way the procedure will take place and the paperwork needed, is available within the Public Procurements Electronic System (SEAP).
