National Bank of Romania forex reserves go up in April by 189 mln euros to 31.471 bn euros

The forex reserves of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) stood at 31.471 billion euros at end-April 2016, up by 189 million euros from 31.282 billion euros in late March 2016, informs on Tuesday a BNR release.

In April this year, there were inflows of 622 billion euros, representing modifications in the minimum forex reserves of credit institutions, feeding the accounts of the Ministry of Public Finance, etc.

On the other hand, the BNR forex reserves saw last month outflows of 433 million euros.

The gold reserve maintained at 103.7 tonnes, and its value was 3.737 billion euros.

The international reserves of Romania (foreign currencies plus gold) on April 31, 2016 were worth 35.208 billion euros, up from 34.9 billion euros on March 31, 2016.

The payments due in May 2016 in the account of forex public debt, direct or guaranteed by the Ministry of Public Finance, amount to some 107 million euros.
