AUTOR International Contemporary Jewelry Fair 2016 – #TheFwordEdition awarded its winners

After seven years of bringing together in Romania hundreds of artists and thousands of contemporary jewelry aficionados from all over the world, AUTOR International Contemporary Jewelry Fair has now become bigger and better, having the magnitude of an annual event.

Last edition of AUTOR Fair, – #TheFwordEdition took place on the 16th and 17th of April in the newly refurbished Grand Hotel du Boulevard.

140 years ago, the same beautiful saloons of this architectural gem located downtown Bucharest, that have  showcased the newest pieces and tendencies in contemporary jewelry, were hosting an impressive exhibition with paintings signed by the acclaimed Lucas Cranach, Titian, Tintoretto, Watteau, Fragonard.

Free, Fearless and always ready to put their limits to the test and to escape in creative realms: 70  talented AUTHORS and jewelry designers (coming from 26 countries like Argentina, Belgium, Bulgaria, Columbia, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Letonia, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal Romania, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, the U.S. or Turkey) have delighted the 2,000 guests who visited the  Fair and had the chance top admire the newest and most fascinating contemporary jewelry collections in 2016!

The International Jewelry Fair AUTOR is the most important event in this field in South-Eastern Europe. ”AUTOR aims to create a dynamic environment with high selection standards. The participants to the fair are offered access to an exquisite and attractive clientele. AUTOR is an active platform that encourages and creates a dialogue between designers and their public: consumers, collectors, galleries, distributors, specialized media,” say the organizers.

The most Fascinating artists were awarded at AUTOR 2016:

 

AAA (AUTOR Awesome Award)

 

The awesome designer of the edition: Ana Barbu from Romania received the AUTOR Awesome Award and the opportunity to attend a contemporary jewelry class at Alchimia Jewelry School in Florence. The awarded trophy was created by the winner at the latest edition of the Fair, Ana Marchetanu.

 

Assamblage Award

 

Iza Visoianu from Romania was rewarded with a jewelry course at Assamblage – the only contemporary jewelry school in Bucharest.

 

ELLE Award

 

ELLE Magazine Fashion editors have chosen one designer to whom they will dedicate an article in the next issue of the most visible and best sold Romanian Fashion magazine: Mona Velciov – Monotip, from Romania.

 

Krama Institute Award

 

Cleopatra Coșulet from Romania won a jewelry course at Krama School of Contemporary Jewellery in Athens.

 

Joya Barcelona Award

 

The Joya Award consists of direct entrance and Free of charge participation at the 2016 edition of the fair, in Barcelona and was awarded to SunYoung Kim (photo) , from South Korea.

 

Molecule-F Award

 

The receiver of the Molecule F Award is Doru Dumitrescu Wearable Sculptures from Romania. Initiated at the 2016 edition of the fair, the award brings online and oFFline promotion for the winning designer from Molecule F – the brand supporting Romanian designers.

 

People’s Choice Award

 

Simeon Shomov from Bulgaria was the Favourite of the public. The Award gives the chosen designer the chance to automatically take part in the next edition of AUTOR.

RoxanaVoloseniuc, publisher and Editor-in-Chief ELLE Romania selected her Favourite jewelry collections at AUTOR Fair created by: Aleksandra Atanasovski, Cristine Jalio, Madara Keidza, Mona Velciov – Monotip, Moogu, PÿR, Raluca Buzura, Roxana Davidescu, Sara Chyan Jewellery, Sunyoung Kim, Utopic by Mona Vulpoiu and Vika Mayzel.Jewelry.
