The Federal Republic of Germany’s Embassy in Bucharest has conferred its Mass-Media Award for the first time in 2016. The Embassy congratulates the two winners of the Mass-Media Award 2016, Ms. Aida Ivan and Ms. Ruxandra Hurezean.
Aida Ivan won the award in the “Glance at Germany” category for her “Chronik eines Konflikts-Rumanische Bauarbeiter bei der Mall of Berlin” article (“The chronicle of a conflict – Romanian workers at the construction of the mall of Berlin”). The article was published in July 2015 in Romania’s ‘Allgemeine Deutschen Zeitung fur Rumanien’ German-language daily.
Ruxandra Hurezean won the award in the “Past and present of the German minority in Romania” category for her “Einschenk – Filling Transylvania with sound for 120 years straight.” The article was published in March 2016 in the ‘Sinteza’ monthly magazine.
Ambassador Lauk extended his gratitude to the three members of the independent jury – Ms. Nina May, Mr. Laurentiu Colintineanu and Mr. Matei Martin (photo), whose support made the project possible.
The two awards are an initiative of the German embassy as a sign of appreciation for remarkable articles published in the Romanian press, articles that contribute to a deep knowledge of the Federal Republic of Germany (“A glance at Germany”) and of the German minority in Romania (“Past and present of the German minority in Romania”).
The award ceremony took place on May 7, at the “Cluj Press Gala,” an event organised in 2016 for the second time by the Press Professionals Association (APPC) and which took place, this year too, under the aegis of the German Embassy.
