Gregorian concerts, sold out all over Europe

  • There are still available tickets for the show in Bucharest, where Amelia Brightman and Narcis Iustin Ianau will also perform

Only a few days left until we can meet the wonderful Gregorian choir at Sala Palatului (Palace Hall) in Bucharest, on May 16, at 8.00 pm. The artists Amelia Brightman and Narcis Iustin Ianau will be there, accompanying the eight Gregorian singers during the entire show.

Gates will open at 7.00 pm, according to the organizers from German Quality Entertainment.

Gregorian performs the farewell tournament, a successful one, which was sold out everywhere it took place until now. Today, they will perform in Rostock, Germany.

In the beginning Gregorian was more a pop band, born out of the “vein” of the new age project, Ambient-Downtempo-Enigma. They recorded their album Satisfactio under this concept, bringing voices of The Sisters of Oz: Susana Espelleta (Frank Peterson’s wife at that time) and Birgit Freud. However, it was the only album in this style, leading after years to what many of us know: the album called Masters of Chant. In 1998, Peterson and his band consisting of Jan-Eric Kohrs, Michael Soltau and Carsten Heusmann reinvented the project, deciding to step on the field of the Gregorian songs, this time. The selection of the songs was very strict. Songs were carefully selected for every album, in addition to the songs wrote by Jan-Eric Kohrs, Amelia Brightman and Carsten Heussman. Twelve vocal singers were hired in order to record the songs in a church atmosphere, so that the sound was as real as possible.

« Masters of Chant » reached the end of the story, since Gregorian finalizes the 10 music albums, an incredible worldwide success, a real triumphal marching which they chose to celebrate by performing an exciting tournament, visiting Bucharest also.

Producer Frank Peterson, the GREGORIAN brain, is for sure one of the most prolific German artists, having more than 10 million albums sold and being awarded with Gold and Platinum in 18 countries.
