Bergerat Monnoyeur Open Days 2016

Bergerat Monnoyeur Romania, a Cat dealer for more than 80 years and exclusive representative of the American producer Caterpillar in Romania, has organized the event called Open Days 2016 in May 12-13, 2016.

Being designed under the slogan “We build the future together – new, intelligent solutions!”, the event has gathered more than 200 partners from all over the country and has included networking sessions, presentations of products and technologies, and debates on the European grant programs.

“Opend Days has become a benchmark of the industry. It’s the place where the representatives of the most important companies in Romania gather to discover new technologies, products and services which have the capacity to simplify the work and to make the operational costs to be more efficient” stated Liviu Neagu, the General Manager of Bergerat Monnoyeur Romania and Republic of Moldova.

The most dynamic moment of the event was the demo session, which included demonstrations of Cat machines, as well as the presentation of a mapping solutions using drones.

Among the products which could be tested was the Cat 140M3 autograder, having a Trimble GCS900 3D system, the Cat D6N bulldozer with Trimble GCS900 2D system, and the Cat 323E excavator with Cat Grade Control system.

“Our company benefits of the technologies provided by Caterpillar and Trimble since 2011, and we are the first using 3D leveling with a full robotic station in Romania. We realized very quickly that the equipments provided by Bergerat Monnoyeur and by Sitech are the only ones being capable to reach the highest standards in the field. At the same time, productivity has grown by 25-30 percent, while operational costs has been significantly reduced thanks to the reliability of the equipments and to the low maintenance costs. These are decisive factors in growth and maintenance  of the competitiveness, quality and durability of the performed works”, stated Dan Pricope, MITHRAS Build representative.

The new mapping solution is developed by Caterpillar Inc and Redbird and it involves collectioning and analyzing aerial data using drones, so that the partner companies are able to perform a more efficient, more secure and more profitable management of activity. Data analysis is executed through the Cardinal software platform, a product using cloud technology. The platform can be accessed from anywhere, anytime, providing cadastral information both in 3D and in 2D format. Using this solution, the project managers will be able to follow the daily progress of the works and to issue accurate time estimations.

Caterpillar has already used this kind of mapping in Romania for a fesability study of 5 quarries.

Within the event, disscutions and debates took place on the EU grants programs, on the opportunities they bring, but also on the difficulties which the companies meet by accessing them.

“European grants were and they still are the main engine for growth in most of the Central-European countries. We hope that following the law changes the absorbtion level will speed up. New programs will allow the development of all the companies, regardless their size or their activity field” Liviu Neagu added.
