Romanian and foreign diplomats will compete in several sport events, such as soccer, basketball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, chess, cycling and golf in the 28 May – 5 June MAE Cup, the 14th such competition of the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE).
In a release to Agerpres on Friday, the MAE mentions that the event will open with a bicycle tour starting 9.00 Saturady, on a route that ends at the Diplomatic Club.
Also on Saturday, the Diplomatic Club will host a friendly soccer match between the teams of the MAE and of the French embassy in Bucharest. According to the MAE, the match has a “dual signification”: it reenacts the first match between the national teams of the two countries, (Bucharest, 1932) and it prefaces the 10 June France-Romania opening match of European Football Championship in Paris.
