President Iohannis says Diaspora must really become national priority

President Klaus Iohannis on Sunday sent a message on the Romanians Abroad Day stressing that the Diaspora should become a national priority in a real way and for that he asked the Government to draft a Roadmap.

“And, this way we shall never waste the potential of the Romanians abroad who could contribute to Romania’s development, either by returning home or by representing its image worldwide,” says Iohannis in the message released by the Presidential Administration.

“I wish more than ever that we express our love for the country, by being better, more responsible, by doing things more thoroughly, by taking care of each other, so that our Romania becomes strong, prosperous, a place you would come back with love and hope. I know that through work, tenacity, ambition and courage you, the Romanians who have left the country bring value to the communities you live in and do honour Romania in several fields. I’d be happy that the experience you have accomplished abroad could be put in the service of our country,” adds the president in his message.

All the Romanians abroad should be supported to preserve their identity and their rights and freedoms to be protected, added Iohannis.
