In order to build the bridge between sports and digital world, the Embassy of France in Romania in partnership with the French Institute in Romania organize the event called “When football meets digital art”, held on Monday, May 30, 2016, starting at 6.15 pm, in the Elvira Popescu hall (77 Dacia Blvd.). The two creators David Dufresne and Anita Hugi will hold a conference on the subject of the new interactive writing technologies, right after the official launching of the interactive website Dada-Data.net in Romanian language, an event taking place on April 16, on the occasion of celebrating 120 years since the birth of Tristan Tzara, being co-produced by the Embassy of France in Romania, the Embassy of Switzerland in Romania and the Romanian Cultural Institute.
On this occasion, the French Ambassador in Romania, His Excelence Mr. François Saint-Paul, will award the finalists of the “Euro 2016” Video Gaming Tournament, in the presence of the representatives of the Invitation Romania Travel & Culture tourism agency and of Décathlon, who are the partners contributing to the organization of this digital competition. Being held from May 9 to May 13 in the atrium of the French Institute in Bucharest, the tournament has gathered a large number of Romanian and French participants in an ambaince of tolerance and around the common passion for sport.
In the presence of the Swiss producer and web-designer, the journalist and the creator of interactive content David Dufresne will present his new project, namely the documentary called “Hors-Jeu”, dedicated to the backstage of the European Football Championship in 2016, consisiting of documentary chronicles related to the mentioned sport game and well documented. Being inspired by the collection of the Panini vignettes, the website is built on the basis of a compilation of virtual books, which can be downloaded for free by the users, focused on the topic of the current deviations in football, commented by personalities in this field, like Emmanuel Petit or Patrick Nally, who is deemed the predecessor of the sport marketing.
The two artists will also offer a panoramic view on the non-linear creation and on the interest for these new modalities of contemporary creation. It will be an opportunity to present to the Romanian public the projects performed in a field which is located between interactive art and investigative journalism. On the same day of May 30, at 11.00 am, David Dufresne and Anita Hugi will meet the students of the Bucharest National Art University at UNAgaleria, in order to debate on the 2.0 format in the artistic field, as well as on the interactive website Dada-Data, which sparks the artistic courage and the challenging spirit of the Dada movement, transforming it in a day-to day living style.
