Prosecutor General Augustin Lazar stated in an interview for Digi24 that he met President Klaus Iohannis on the day of his appointment in office. “It was simple and commonsensical,” Augustin Lazar stated.
“He asked me some questions about my career, about what I think should be done at the Public Ministry and afterward he informed me that he will sign the decree. That was all, simple and commonsensical,” Augustin Lazar stated.
He revealed he was persuaded to file his CV for the leadership of the Public Ministry on March 14, at the institution’s activity review, two days before the period for the filing of candidacies ended.
He received the proposal from the Justice Ministry.
