E.ON organises prestigious Energy Globe Awards competition

+ With this first, Romania joins the more than 170 countries where the Energy Globe Awards is held annually

Energy Globe Awards (EGA), the most important international-level competition in the energy efficiency and environment protection domains, an event held for almost two decades, will be organised for the first time in Romania this year. E.ON will be the company that will organise the event.

E.ON Energy Globe Awards (EEGA) plans to select and award the best energy efficiency projects and to thus show, not only to the Romanian audience but also to the whole world, that there are intelligent solutions for a series of current major challenges, solutions that can become models.

The competition, which is based on the filing of projects, is open to any natural or legal person in Romania, such as communes, municipalities, schools, companies, scientific research institutions, state organisations, NGOs and universities.

Whoever has a project, a solution or an interesting idea in the energy efficiency domain or in the intelligent use of energy resources has the chance of making them known and of thus receiving recognition and support not only in Romania but throughout the world. In order to enter the competition, the projects or initiatives have to be submitted on www.energyglobe.ro.

The winning projects will be awarded valuable prizes, will be promoted and will enjoy wide media coverage and significant interest from the public opinion. An independent jury, consisting of renowned specialists, will handle the selection and evaluation process, and the awards will be conferred at a Gala that will be organised in Bucharest in October. The big winner will qualify for the international stage of the Energy Globe Awards.

The Energy Globe Awards (www.energyglobe.info) was created in 1999 by energy pioneer Wolfgang Neumann (Austria), and is currently the most important global award for energy efficiency and environment protection solutions, being considered the equivalent of the Academy Awards.

By getting involved in organising this competition, E.ON Romania is joining global environment and natural resource protection efforts. Romania is thus joining the family of over 170 countries where excellency in the energy efficiency, environment protection and promotion of renewable resources domains is awarded through the Energy Globe Award.
