Nearly 89,000 used cars registered in January-April 2016

In January – April 2016, 88,647 used cars have been registered in Romania; the figure is about 20 per cent up year on year, according to statistics of the Directorate for Driving Licences and Vehicle Registration (DRPCIV) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, consulted by Agerpres.
Of the 23,984 used cars registered in April, 6,729 were Volkswagen, up by 26.37pct as compared to April 2015. Romanians’ preferences continue with Opel (3,946 / +17.16pct), Ford (2,768 / +24.13pct), BMW (1,880 / +34.86pct), Audi (1,845 / +43.13pct), Skoda (1,256 / +36.52pct), Renault (1,012 / +21.78pct), Mercedes (953 / +35.37pct), etc.
Out of 5.15 million registered cars, 302,054 were 0-2 years old in 2015, up by 52.7pct YOY; some 2.56 million (down 12.31pct) were older than 12 years, 1.89 million were 6-10 years old, 1.76 million 11-15, and 1.2 million older than 20 years.
According to the DRPCIV data, the national car fleet totaled at end-2015 about 6.6 million vehicles, up by 5.27pct as compared to end-2014.
In general, 3.484 million Romanians chose Diesel engines and 2.760 million gasoline ones.
