Romanian films screened in the Netherlands

The 4-5 June European Film Festival at the De Balie cultural centre of Amsterdam features on Saturday two Romanian films: Cristian Mungiu’s ‘4 months, 3 weeks, 2 days’ (photo), and Catalin Mitulescu’s ‘The Way I Spent the End of the World. The festival takes more than 30 European films to eight Dutch cities.

The screenings of Romanian productions are organised by the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) of Brussels, by the European Union National Institutes for Culture EUNIC Netherlands, with the support of the European Commission representation, of the European Parliament Information Office and of the Creative Europe Desk in the Netherlands.

ICR Brussels sponsors the attendance of director Catalin Mitulescu and of actor Levente Molnar, known for ‘Son of Saul’, winner of the 2016 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film of the Year. The programme is a part of the ICR’s strategy of promotion of Romanian films.
