Stock trading goes up 6.9pct on Bucharest Stock Exchange main segment

Stock trading carried out on the main segment of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) went up 6.9 percent, to 784.8 million euros, in the first five months of 2016 compared with the similar period of 2015, as revealed by the data of the capital market operator.
In May this year, the total trading value amounted to over 147.6 million euros, by 45.2 percent higher than in the similar month of 2015.
On the alternative trading system, the transaction value increased some 412 percent, to over 18.2 million euros, in the first five months of 2016.
Banca Transilvania, Fondul Proprietatea and Romgaz shares were the most traded on the main segment in May.
Banca Transilvania stocks were traded under 8,194 transactions, worth over 228.8 million lei, Fondul Proprietatea shares were traded in 2,246 transactions worth over 184.8 million lei, and Romgaz, in 7,497 transactions of about 79.9 million lei.
The 4th and 5th places are taken by Electrica and BRD, with 40.3 million lei and 34.2 million lei, respectively.
On ATS, the most traded stocks in May belonged to Bucur Obor Bucharest (529,594 lei), Deutsche Bank (489,019 lei) and Apple Inc. (413,725 lei).
