Housing constructions in Romania increased by 25.5 percent in the first quarter of 2016 compared with the same period of 2015, to 11,590 homes, show data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) on Tuesday.
Most homes in Q1 2016 were built in the urban areas, with a 58.4 percent share of the total.
‘The distribution by funding of the completed homes reveal that in Q1 2016, compared with Q1 2015, the number of homes built on private funds went up by 2,633. The regional distribution shows increases in the development regions as follows: North-East (+1,211 homes), North- West (+496), South – East (+378), West (+244), Centre (+210), South-West Oltenia (+136), South-Muntenia (+97). A decline in the number of finished homes was recorded in the Bucharest – Ilfov development region (-414 homes),’ says INS.
