Investments up by 7.5 pc

Net investments in the national economy surpassed RON 12.85 bln in the first three months of this year, up by 7.5 percent year-on-year, according to National Statistics Institute (INS) data published on Tuesday.

The most significant investments, namely RON 6.45 bln, were channelled into the procurement of equipment and transport means (up by 16.1 percent year-on-year), while RON 4.93 bln (down by 0.90 percent) were earmarked for new construction works.

“Compared to Q1 of 2015, Q1 of 2016 registered a 4.3 percentage point hike in the share held by net investments in equipment (including transport means) and a 0.3 percentage point hike in the share held by net investments in other expenditures. The share of net investments in new construction works has dropped by 4.6 percentage points,” INS points out.
