The Social Democrat Party (PSD) got 34.83pct of the valid votes for mayors in the local elections last Sunday, followed by the National Liberal Party (PNL) – 31.49pct, after the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) completed the vote counting in all 3,186 polling stations for last Sunday’s local elections.
The final results could be presented on Friday, after the BEC will answer all the complaints it received.
Gabriela Firea , running from PSD’s alliance with the National Union for Romania’s Progres,s got 42.97pct for the Bucharest Mayoralty, followed by the Save Bucharest Union’s candidate Nicusor Dan – 30.52pct, with votes counted in all 1,252 polling stations in Bucharest.
According to the BEC, the distribution on mandates in the General Council of Bucharest Municipality is as follows: PSD+UNPR – 24, USB – 15, PNL – 8, People’s Movement Party 4, and the Romanian Alliance of Liberals and Democrats 4.
