Sun Trains 2016 to start running today

A three-month summer transportation programme Sun Trains 2016 will be started off today, to run throughout September 13, allowing tourists to choose from among 40 trains travelling from all over the country to Black Sea and Danube Delta resorts, CFR Calatori national passenger railway carrier reports.

“The summer season is an opportunity to us. We try to meet the needs for mobility of as many people as possible, as well as their wishes for higher class transport standards. Under the Sun Trains programme, we are connecting the entire country to summer travel destinations, hoping to bring Romanians holidays that are as near to them as possible,” says CFR Calatori Director General Iosif Szentes.

CFR Calatori says it has prepared a special programme of trains that will be gradually commissioned so that all the regions of Romania may be connected to the highest in demand domestic holiday destinations.

Brasov tourists will have three direct trains to Constanta and back; Sighetu Marmatiei tourists will take direct trains from Satu Mare to Mangalia.

In order to facilitate tourist access to the Danube Delta, an additional direct InterRegio train will travel from Bucharest North to Tulcea and back.

All the InterRegio trains are equipped with air conditioning and power outlets and the Seaside Trains IR 1983, IR 1582, IR 1587 and IR 1588 from Bucharest to Constanta and back also have bar cars. Free Wi-Fi Internet access is provided aboard the IR 1585 and IR 1586 trains from Bucharest City to Constanta and back.

CFR Calatori SA is Romania’s national passenger railway carrier.
