Romania’s Cristina Neagu has been nominated the world’s best handball player in 2015, following a survey conducted by the International Handball Federation. The Romanian player won 50.5 percent of the votes cast by press representatives from all over the world, and 72.9 percent of the votes cast by fans.
This is the second time Cristina Neagu has been nominated best handball player of the world, after winning this title in 2010 too.
Norway’s Heide Loke was second in the survey, followed by Nycke Groot (Netherlands), Karolina Kudlacz-Gloc (Poland) and Nora Mork (Norway).
In 2015, Cristina Neagu won the EHF Champions League with Buducnost and was the competition’s top goal scorer, with 102 goals. Likewise, she won the bronze medal at the World Championships last December, with the Romanian national handball team, and was the competition’s top goal scorer, with 63 goals, as well as MVP.
