Fair, being invited by the Romanian Cultural Institute in Stockholm.
“I am pleased to participate for the third time to the Gothenburg Book Fair – a fair where I have always felt very good”, says the writer in a press release issued by ICR Stockholm.
In her new book, “Mein Vaterland war ein Apfelkern”, which is going to be published in Swedish translation this autumn, the writer reflects on the fact that individual, esthetic and political problems interfere, thus it’s difficult to identify the border between them.
“What I wish to reveal through my book is that each decision which a person takes represents an acceptance or a refusal. The book treats the subject of the individual’s responsibility towards its own life, and also towards the life of people near him”, states Herta Muller, quoted in the press release.
According to the Deputy Director of ICR Stockholm, Dan Shafran, since the foundation of the Institute, 10 years ago, the institution had a “close cooperation” with Herta Muller.
“Bok & Bibliotek” Book Fair in Gothenburg, which will take place this year from 22nd to 25th of September, is the largest event of its kind in Sweden and one of the most important events in Europe; the main subject of this edition is the freedom of expression.
