+ The competition is open to projects which promote the responsible use of the digital media by the young and adults

Telekom Romania announces the start of the local projects submission to the third edition of the international contest ”YES to the secure digital media!”, which is part of Teachtoday initiative, a digital education program developed by the world’s telecommunications leader, Deutsche Telekom.

Teachtoday aims to promote conscious, responsible and safe use of the digital media by the young and adult population. In this regard, the platform provides users with tips, advice and practical materials, easy to use in everyday life.

“Firstly, Teachtoday aims to inspire teachers to discover the digital world and, together with children and teenagers, start to use the digital media in safe conditions. At the same time, Teachtoday positions itself as an education platform based on which users, particularly teachers, may exchange experiences in the digital education field.”, said the representatives of Deutsche Telekom.

In order to register in the ”YES to the secure digital media!” contest, participants must fill in an online form, which is available on the Teachtoday platform, News / Our 2016 competition  section.

All the adults who currently work with children or teenagers, such as teachers, pedagogical personnel, but also parents, coaches or mentors, may register projects within the contest. The registered projects should address children between 9-14 years old or should have involved children in the project developed within the school or as part of an extra curriculum program.

The deadline for submitting the applications is July 31, 2016. The winners will be announced in November 2016.

A jury composed of digital education experts, teachers and science people will select the best projects, with the big prize consisting of 1,000 euros, the second – 500 euros and the third – 300 euros.

The projects may be submitted in Romanian, by using the online registration form. The participants are required to describe the project’s objectives and results and present as examples the means by which the project may be implemented by other teachers. Also, together with the registration form, participants may send additional materials such as photos, videos etc.

The projects registered in the competition must promote ways in which pupils may learn to use the digital media in safe conditions and develop practical and operative study abilities.

Teachtoday is an initiative of Deutsche Telekom aiming to promote the safe and responsible use of the Internet.
