The National Weather Administration (ANM) on Wednesday issued a Code Yellow warning for relentless heat and high thermal discomfort valid Wednesday through Friday in 21 counties in the south and south-east of Romania and Bucharest City.
Besides Bucharest, the Code Yellow warning stands valid in the counties of Mehedinti, Gorj, Dolj, Valcea, Olt, Arges, Teleorman, Dambovita, Giurgiu, Prahova, Ilfov, Buzau, Ialomita, Calarasi, Constanta, Tulcea, Braila, Vrancea, Galati, Bacau and Vaslui.
According to the meteorologists, in most parts of Muntenia and Dobrogea, in the southern half of Oltenia and Moldavia and on limited areas in the remaining regions, there will be scorching heat. The maximum temperatures will frequently reach around 35 Celsius degrees and on June 22 there will also be highs of 36-37 degrees.
