On June 16, the 15th session of the Romanian-Vietnamese Economic Cooperation Commission took place in Hanoi. The session represented an opportunity to analyse the current stage of bilateral economic relations and particularly to define the future directions of action in order to raise the dynamic of bilateral trade, economic cooperation and investments.
During the works, the two sides emphasised the importance of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement which, once it comes into force, will have beneficial effects on Romanian-Vietnamese bilateral economic relations too.
The Commission’s protocol includes actions that the two sides will carry out next in order to impart a higher dynamic to bilateral trade, especially by encouraging contacts between businessmen and easing the exchange of information. The two sides expressed their desire to consolidate their bilateral collaboration in the industrial (including industrial parks), energy, agriculture, technical-scientific research, IT&C, tourism and SMEs domains.
The Romanian delegation took part in two business forums in Ho Chi Minh (on June 15) and Hanoi (on June 16). The forums enjoyed special attention from the Vietnamese side, businessmen as well as representatives of local authorities and the local press being present.
