ARTS & LEISURE CONCERTS

James in the opening at Glastonbury, two weeks before the concert in Romania

Before visiting Romania in the best day of the year, the British band James will open the Glastonbury Festival (UK). The members of the band were very pleased to announce abroad that they will “cut the ribbon and open the champagne” of the festival. The artists will perform on the same stage as names like Muse, Adele or Coldplay. James will perform for the first time in Bucharest on July 11, at Lazy Monday, at the Herastrau Summer Theater.

The rockers from Manchester, known for their hits such as “Laid” or “Sit Down”, will take over “The Other Stage” on Friday, June 24, starting at 11.00 pm, for the first concert of the festival’s weekend. In the last years, bands like Kaiser Chiefs or The Charlatans have opened the party. Brits are having a full promotional tour of their last album called “Girl at the End of the World”; the star of the song’s video is the Romanian Alexandra Chelaru. The band is literally travelling around the word, and many of their stops are premieres.

Lazy Monday also has a great opening today, in Club Control, with a warm-up party, after The Mono Jacks’ concert. DJ Leo will animate the party starting at 11.00 pm, with a playlist consisting in carefully selected alternative music. You will find a lot of surprises at the party, besides a refreshing ambiance in the midsummer. The access will cost RON 10; for further details, please visit the webpage of the event.
