Microsoft Romania appoints Gabriela Matei as General Manager

Microsoft Romania announces the appointment of Gabriela Matei as the new General Manager effective July 1, 2016, replacing Kostas Loukas who is taking on a new role within Microsoft in CEE.  In her new role, Gabriela will be a member of the Central and Eastern Europe Senior Leadership Team (SLT), reporting directly to the CEE Microsoft President.

Since January 2014, Gabriela matei has been in charge of Microsoft Romania’s Small and Mid Market business as well as the Partners Network of over 1.700 active partners through which Microsoft leverages its offer on the local market, demonstrating great leadership in driving the local market transformation, while delivering performance and strong growth across the SME customer and partner segments. Between 2012 and 2014, as Cloud Director, she was responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Cloud strategy across segments and products, playing a crucial role in building the local cloud market, a milestone for both Microsoft Romania and the overall technology landscape.  Before joining Microsoft, Gabriela spent over 15 years with Vodafone Romania, where she grew to the position of Chief Commercial Officer for the Enterprise Business Unit, being a member of the Vodafone Senior Leadership Team. Gabriela graduated in Engineering from the Bucharest University of Polytechnics.

Effective July 1, Kostas will assume the role of General Manager, Public Sector for Central and Eastern Europe.
