The Cuban pianist Omar Sosa, live at Jazz Night Out

The seven time nominated artist to the Grammy Awards, the Cuban pianist Omar Sosa, will perform this summer at Jazz Night Out, on June 30.

The artist will introduce his latest album, Ilé, to the Romanian audience. In the Lucumi ethnic dialect from Cuba, “ilé” means “home”, so for this album, the musician finds his inspiration by returning to the roots of the Latin Jazz from the native Cuba. The product creatively combines jazz with the Afro-Cuban music; the Cuban classical styles are readjusted, reinterpreted in a current manner, with intermezzos that create a nice ambiance, alternated by tempo, or by piano or saxophone improvisations.

Omar Sosa is accompanied in this fascinating musical travel by musicians being his friends since he was a child. The Quarteto AfroCubano project includes Leandro Saint-Hill playing saxophone and flute, Childo Tomas playing bass and vocal and Ernesto Simson playing drums.

The Omar Sosa Quarteto Afro Cubano’s concert will be held on June 30, 2016, starting at 8.00 pm, at the Radio Hall in Bucharest. The access will be allowed starting at 7.30 pm. Not allowed with professional cameras. Filming is banned throughout the concert.

The ticket price for this event is RON 115, RON 145 and RON 175, depending on the category. Tickets are available through the Eventim network (Germanos, Carrefour, Orange Shop, Vodafone stores, Carturesti and Humanitas bookstores and OMV gas stations) and online at www.eventim.ro.
