The 4th edition of the Romanian Culture Days in Havana

This week, the 4th edition of the Romanian Culture Days in Havana occupies the historical center of the Cuban Capital, Havana, according to a press release of the Romanian Ambassador in Cuba, Dumitru Preda.

One of the attractions of the Romanian Culture Days in Havana is the photo exhibition called “Romania: People and Places”, which was opened on Tuesday at the Lombillo Palace in the Cathedral Square. The selection performed by the Photoromania Association, led by the visual artists Sorin Onisor, Bogdan Comanescu and Gina Buliga (photo), presents the Romanian culture and traditions to the Cuban public.

The cultural institution annually holds in May, since 2010, the Photo Romania Festival, hosting more than 70 exhibitions of the foreign and local artists, as well as an international meeting of the European festivals managers.

On the other hand, San Francisco de Paula Church hosted on Wednesday, July 6, at 6.30 pm local time, the unique concert held by the soprano Mariana Preda, aged 22, living in Amsterdam. The interpreter, actress and director, besides her artistic versatility, has become famous thanks to her participation in the short film called “Doina” by Nikolas Grasso. Her portfolio includes the award for the best feminine interpretation at the Monaco International Film Festival in 2010 and one year later, at the Paris Film Festival.

In the last December, Culture Ministries in Cuba and Romania signed a cooperation agreement celebrating 55 years of continuous diplomatic relations. Among the priorities, the agreement stipulates the participation of the representatives of both of the countries to music, art and film festivals and to other similar events, such as exhibitions and book fairs. The experience exchange between the national libraries, holding exhibitions of visual arts and architecture, as well as the experience exchange between ballet groups and companies are also included in the agreement.
