Open Doors at Danone factory

Saturday, Danone Romania, the leader of the yogurt market, opens its doors and invites consumers to the factory in Colentina, Bucharest. Visitors can learn about the road the milk takes from the farmers, to the factory and up to the moment when the yogurt pots are distributed in stores all over the country.

What are the ingredients in the yogurt pot? What kind of tests and stages does the milk go through from entering the factory gates to reaching the selves, in the shape of a yogurt pot? What are the benefits of yogurt for our diet? To all these questions and more visitors can find answers in the factory tour and live discussions with Danone’s employees. To visit the factory, all those interested need to access www.danone.ro, fill in a form and select the desired timeframe.

„The Danone factory in Bucharest continues a long tradition of dairy production in Romania, as it was founded after the acquisition of the old Miorita Fundeni unit. After an initial investment of 18 million dollars, in 1999 the first Danone yogurt pots were produced under the Natural and Delicios brands. 17 years later, the product portfolio includes tens of assortments offering consumers easy solutions to integrate in the daily diet. We open our doors to consumers, like we did in the past, so as to show people what lies behind the yogurt they pick out from the shelves: where is the milk we use collected from, what are the stages it goes through before turning into yogurt, what quality means to us – from the ingredients to the taste and even the packaging, which is meant to protect and keep the product in good conditions. The factory visit is a special and educational experience for all, irrespective of the age of the person crossing the threshold. We hope that this experience will be interesting for Romanians and that we can turn it into a tradition in the years to come.” stated Adrian Pascu, general manager of Danone Romania, Bulgaria, Moldavia and the Adriatic countries.
