“I wouldn’t run from the idea of a national union Government”
Vice PM Costin Borc stated in a TV show that he doesn’t want to be a Prime-Minister, but he doesn’t rule out such an option if he would be suggested to, mentioning that the honor to be nominated as a PM is extraordinary.
“I didn’t enter into this battle led by the wish to acquire gallons, to improve my CV. I don’t know what I should do if the President would propose me to be a PM. Today, to be very honest with you, my thought is that I do not wish the PM position. The honor to be nominated as a M is extraordinary. I don’t know what I would do in such a situation, I didn’t think at this”, stated the Vice PM Costin Borc in a Digi 24 TV show.
He recalled the moment when he was proposed to be part of the Government.
“When I was in our plant from Medgidia and the PM called me by the phone, I didn’t even think to be a Vice PM. I was doubted when I came at the Victoria Palace”, Borc also said.
Vice PM Costin stated that a national union Government is possible to be formed after the parliamentary elections in autumn, and that this Government could be led by the current PM Dacian Ciolos, so Romania would have a higher stability and power in negotiating within EU.
“If Dacian Ciolos will be Prime-Minister in December or after elections, he will be the Prime-Minister of a politic Government. The logic of the election will show us if this Government will be a monochrome one, an alliance or a national union Government”, Vice PM Cortin Borc stated for Digi 24.
Asked if Dacian Ciolos would be good to remain PM also after the parliamentary elections, Costin Borc answered: “Yes, I personally think so!”.
“I wouldn’t run from the idea of a national union Governmnt. It could offer stability to some plans and t could give power to Romanian’s position within the EU negotiations that will follow|, added the Vice PM.
PSD President Liviu Dragnea rejected the idea of a national union Government. He stated on Friday in a TV show that the party he’s leading will not be in the same Government with PNL, at least as long as he will lead the party.
“Let it be very clear: PSD will not be in the same Government with PNL; even Mr. Ponta and Mr. Tariceanu are disappointed, PSD will not be in the same Government with PNL. I would like to close this subject form the PSD’s point of view. (…) As long s I will be President, PSD will not form the Government together with PNL”, stated PSD President Liviu Dragnea for Antena 3.
