For the first time, a symphonic orchestra from China performs at the RadiRo Festival

The International Festival of the Radio Orchestras – RadiRo, 3rd edition, held by Radio Romania, will start on September 23, with the participation of the Shenzen Symphonic Orchestra from China, which will perform the opening concert.

“Being a strong signal of expending the festival beyond the European space, the Shenzen Symphonic Orchestra’s concert represents the first concert of the ensemble in Romania, bringing also for the first time in Bucharest two important names from China: the pianist Zhang Zuo, one of the most well ranged Chinese soloists worldwide, and conductor Lin Daye, along with the Romanian violinist Gabriel Croitoru”, according to a press  release issued by the Radio Romania Media Cultural Center.

The program of the concert will propose a mix between the Romanian repertoire (Rhapsody No.1” by Enescu) and the international one (Rachmaninov, C. Saint-Saens and Rimski Korsakov).

Founded in 1982, the Shenzen Symphonic Orchestra is currently one of the most appreciated ensembles in China. The orchestra held tournaments on four continents and cooperated with first class conductors and soloists of the Chinese and international musical stage, according to the press release. Conductor Lin Daye won the 1st Prize at the International Conducting Contest “Sir Georg Solti” in Frankfurt, in 2012.

Tickets and subscriptions for the RadiRo Festival are available at www.eventim.ro, in the Germanos, Orange, Vodafone, Domo, Carrefour stores, as well as at the Carturesti and Humanitas bookstores or at the OMV gas stations and at the Radio Hall ticket office.
