PNL leadership’s reaction to Andreea Paul’s resignation: “It happens”

Referring to PNL First Vice President Andreea Paul’s resignation on Monday, PNL Co-President Vasile Blaga stated that families go through rough patches too.

“There is no secret, she has resigned from the office of first vice president of the party,” Blaga stated, pointing out that most members of the Satu Mare party branch have agreed with the party branch leadership nominated by the National Standing Bureau.

He pointed out that Andreea Paul remains a member of PNL. “If she wants to, and I advise her to do so, she can continue to be active within the Satu Mare branch, if not it’s her choice” Blaga added.

Asked whether Andreea Paul expressed the desire to be president of the Satu Mare party branch he answered affirmatively and added that he wants many things to but “the other side has to want it too.”

“There are resources. That is why there are also disagreements from time to time. This is life, it happens in a family too,” Blaga added.

Lower Chamber lawmaker and PNL First Vice President Andreea Paul (photo) resigned from her party office on Monday. She wrote on Facebook that she will remain a simple PNL member, the decision not being easy to take.

“When I ran for office in 2012, I obtained a score that was twice the party’s average nationwide score and I won over a constituency that had been red for 23 years. In 2016, in Tara Oasului, PNL scored 38 percent, above PSD’s 33 percent,” Andreea Paul wrote, adding that she will continue to focus on her academic activity and consultancy work.
