President Iohannis sends condolences to Italian counterpart on railway accident

Romania’s President Klaus Iohannis has extended condolences to his Italian counterpart Sergio Mattarella over a railway accident in Italy that, according to a count by the ANSA news agency left 27 dead and 50 injured.

“It is with great sadness that I have learned about the railway accident that occurred on July 12 in southern Italy that left so many dead and injured. In these painful moments, I want to extend to you, in my name and on behalf of the Romanian people, heart-felt condolences to the families and friends of the victims. Our thoughts are with the injured. Whom we wish quick recovery and strength to overcome the difficult moments,” the Romanian Presidential Administration quotes Iohannis as saying in a message of condolence.
