Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Achim Irimescu is participating 15 to 18 July 2016 in two events promoting Romanian foodstuffs, at the headquarters Permanent Representative Office of Romania in Brussels, informs the relevant ministry in press release on Friday.
Romania has a rich culinary tradition, very good quality wines and has recently registered products with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) that can be promoted internationally. That is why, the events in Brussels are aimed at promoting Romanian products among the counterparts in the Permanent Representation Offices and in the European Commission, as well as among the Romanians in European institutions.
Minister Irimescu reiterated that all producers who intend to apply for obtaining European protection can rely on the support of the ministry’s specialists, assuring them of total openness and involvement in this demarche.
Over 200 participants are expected to attend the two events.
