Europafest Summer Edition 2016, at Peles Castle

Europafest festival brings 6 classical music concerts and Summer Music Academy Sinaia, within the summer edition from Sinaia. Europafest Summer Edition’s will take place at Peles Castle, in the Concert Hall of the royal residency, on July 16, at 6.00 pm, according jmEvents.

Among the artist who can be applauded at this event, there is also Remus Azoitei, a renowned product of the Romanian violin school, established in England after finishing his studies at Julliard School, New York. Today, he is part of the London music elite. He performed in prestigious halls such as Carnegie Hall from New York, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Salle Cortot Paris, Konzerthaus Berlin, St-Martin-in-the-Fields and Wigmore Hall in London, Teatro La Fenice Venetia, Auditorio Nacional Madrid and Konzerthaus Vienna. He cooperated with famous artists like Lawrence Foster, David Geringas, Gerard Causse, Michael Sanderling, Adrian Brendel. The Strad named him “an incurable nobleminded virtuoso with a fabulous technique”.

Josephine Knight, deemed as one of the most important violoncellist in UK, is known for her versatility as a cameral soloist and musician. The artist has made a lot of tournaments worldwide, performing among with important orchestras in Europe. She was invited as a soloist to BBC Proms in London and to all the important festivals in the world, including Aldeburgh, Bath, Beethoven, Cheltenham, Casa da Musica in Porto, Gstaad, Mecklenburg Vorpommern, Schleswig-Holstein, Wigmore Hall, Stavanger and Savannah, cooperating with many highly important musicians, like Daniel Hope, Maxim Vengerov, Lisa Batiashvili, Menahem Pressler, Melvyn Tan, as well as Emerson Ouartet, Takacs Quartet.

Being a Principal Flutist of London Symphony Orchestra for 20 years, and of Philharmonia Orchestra for 5 years, Paul Edmund-Davies has a solid international reputation. He has grown as a soloist under the baton of some of the most well-known conductors, including Leonard Bernstein, Mstislav Rostropovich and Pierre the last 15 years, Paul Edmund-Davies held a lot of tournaments, recitals and concerts in America, Europe, Canada, Australia, Middle East and Far East.

As a member of the famous Chilingirian Quartet and of London Mozart Trio, the violinist Charles Stewart has always enjoyed of a full agenda, holding tournaments in more than 40 countries at renowned festivals. The artist has a wide and rich career as a soloist, from international performances in some of the most prestigious halls, to leading, presenting and conducting the musical gala spectacles of the Strauss family. Charles Stewart had the honor to perform at numerous events held by the British Royal House.

“If the concert means an oasis of relaxation and audio delight for the audience, it also means an opportunity for the artists arrived from 16 countries to follow with interest and to learn from the exceptional performances of the protagonists, who will be their teachers for 12 days, within Summer Music Academy Sinaia. The 5th edition will take place between July 14 and 26, 2016, providing advanced studies and intensive performance at the highest standards. Summer Music Academy Sinaia is a cultural project co-funded by the National Cultural Fund Administration”, stated the organizers.

The following concerts are scheduled on July 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 and they will take place at Hotal Mara Sinaia, “Dimitrie Ghica” Park – Sinaia Casino and Catholic Church. The access to the concert is based on invitations, but free entry will also be granted, depending on the available seats.
