Romanian Aviation and Air Force Day to be celebrated with military hardware exhibitions, demonstration flights

The Romanian Aviation and the Air Force Day will be celebrated with static exhibitions of military hardware and with demonstration flights of some MiG-21 Lancer, IAR-330 Puma IAR-99 and C-27J Spartan aircraft, informs a release of the Ministry of Defence (MApN) sent to Agerpres on Friday.

The actions will take place on Saturday, on the Open Doors Day at the Gheorghe Banciulescu Air Transport Base in Otopeni, near Bucharest.

The Air Force Staff will organize specific events in all its military units.

The Romanian Aviation Day will be marked also through a military and religious ceremony organized on July 20. Wreaths will be laid in memory of the hero airmen at Air Heroes’ Monument in Bucharest.

The Romanian Aviation and Air Force Day is celebrated every year on 20 July, with the feast of St. Elijah, the saint patron of air people, the MApN brings to mind.
