RES, an international leader in creating, automating and securing digital workspaces, entered the Romanian market by opening a Research & Development center in Bucharest. The announcement was made by the CEO of RES, Al Montserrat, in a press conference that was held last Wednesday.
RES provides solutions for digital workspace for a total of more than 2,500 companies worldwide, including Hyundai, ING and Intuit and also has offices in countries in Europe and in the USA and is composed of an international team which counts 330 employees. For the security solutions and applications they develop, primarily for the companies operating in the healthcare, financial services and the public sector, RES is collaborating with trusted partners, like IBM, Microsoft and Citrix.

Alina Şandru, Director Software Engineering Operations Romania, said that she is delighted to represent a company like RES on the Romanian market, because it combines the professionalism of a software producer known in a global level with the family atmosphere. “Here in Romania, we are a united team of passionate people about technology. The center in Bucharest has over 40 employees and, by the end of this year, RES wants to increase its team in Romania.
RES was awarded by the US consulting and research in IT company, with Gartner distinction “Cool Vendor of the Year” in 2015 for RES ONE Service Store and was recently named in the Netherlands for the second year in a row, ‘ The Great Place to Work “.
RES is expanding its presence at global level
Besides the center of Bucharest, RES opened last week, one in Boston, Massachusetts, both offices being focused solely on research and development. Expansion in Europe and in the United States allows RES to accelerate innovation and deliver solutions for digital workspace technologization.
From the appointment of Perry Smith to the position of Senior Vice President of Engineering, RES has increased its investment in research and development so as to meet the demands of a client portfolio that is continuously growing in 27 countries.

Alina Şandru has over ten years experience in multinational companies, and in the past four years, she had executive positions in specialized organizations in software development. In 2011, she joined TechTeam Akela in the position of HR Manager and, after being taken by Stefanini, she worked as Operations / Account Manager in the Brazilian company. She graduated in Psychology from the University of Bucharest, than followed the MA Human Resource Management in the National School of Political and Administrative Studies (SNSPA) and has a certificate in Predictive Analytics Index. From the last year, she is Director – Software Engineering and Operations Romania and leads the Research & Development center in Bucharest, consisting of over 40 software developers.
Bob Janssen is the founder of RES and holds also the position of CFO of the company. He founded RES in 1999, after he worked in several IT departments and he identified the need for setting up a company to come up with solutions for creating, automating and securing digital workspaces. He had an essential role in creating flagship products of RES Workspace Manager and RES (now RES Workspace ONE) and RES Automation Manager (now ONE RES Automation), launched in 1999 and 2005 respectively. He owns a diploma in Business Computing from the University of Applied Sciences Fontys.
Al Montserrat became the CEO of RES in April 2015, after a fifteen years career at Citrix Systems company. Previously, he owned executive positions within the Innovex Group which later, was acquired by Citrix and Accenture. Al Montserrat owns an MBA from the University of Texas and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Miami.
