It was the eighth public visit abroad to the Royal Family of Romania in 2016. In April, Prince Radu visited the Republic of Turkey and then Moldova, in April-May the Crown Princess and Prince Radu visited Sweden, in May Princess Mary visited Moldova, in June, the Crown Princess was in a visit in Switzerland and Prince Radu visited Belgium. In July, Princess Mary visited Bulgaria.

The Crown Princess Margaret has also visited the headquarters of the British Red Cross where she had a meeting with the representatives of the national organization.
